About Our Club

Founded in 1982, The Greater Washington Bouvier des Flanders Club LLC is the regional club, approved by the AKC under the auspices of our Parent Club; the American Bouvier des Flandres Club ("ABdFC"). The ABdFC sets the tone for our club; "...to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed in accordance with the standard and rules of the American Kennel Club."

Our club dedicates all proceeds toward achieving and supporting our mission and activities. As of 2023, we have about 60 Active and Associate members in the mid-Atlantic region and beyond. We welcome new members to join us.

While our club adheres to the AKC and ABdFC standards and rules, we are also passionate about Bouviers as pets, member engagement and enjoying life with our four and two legged friends.

Our Mission

• To do all possible to bring the natural qualities of the Bouvier des Flandres to perfection.
  
  
• To urge members and breeders to accept the Standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Bouvier des Flandres dog shall be judged.
  
  
• To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials and other competitive events.
  
  
• To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and obedience trials under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
